TRASH

Desiderata is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" gathering. Anything brought with you has to be taken away.

Please make sure to clean up your campsite thoroughly during the festival and before you leave.

Participants disrespecting this crucial policy will be asked to politely leave.

FESTIVAL AND GATE HOURS

The festival will take place from 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 23rd through 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 27th.

The Gate will be open at all hours of the day from 4 PM on Wednesday, June 23.

No one will be admitted to the festival before gate hours.

Upon entry, all participants will be required to register, receive a wristband and sign a waiver form as part of the checking in procedure.

RE-ENTRY

Re-enetry is strongly discouraged, although allowed for personal emergencies.

WRISTBANDS

Every attendee will receive a wristband, which is to be worn at all times.

Wristbands are absolutely individual and are not to be transfered.

Anyone caught without a wristband will be escorted out. Re-entry will require a purchase of another ticket.

PARKING

The parking area is a short walk (uphill) to the camping area. Please have it in mind

when packing for the festival, as you will have to carry your belongings to the campsite.

WHAT IS A "KUMZITZ"?

"Kumzitz" literally means "Come, sit." Yet it means much more than that. It is an occasion for people to get together, usually under the stars and around a bonfire, led by one or more musicians singing and playing acoustic instruments. It is a powerful, bonding experience that can leave participants in a trance-like reverie, united by musical harmony, nature and kinship.

By purchasing a Kumzitz Pass, you can arrive on Wednesday afternoon, set your camp up, and as the sun sets, sit with musicians that will be performing during the rest of Desiderata, and enjoy a personal, intimate experience that will prepare you for the approaching four days of extreme and unbridled energy.

CAMPING AT DESIDERATA

This valley in the Catskills, although surrounded by a thick forest, is mostly beautiful green fields. The campsites will get a chance to be spread out, yet most will have little shade. We do recommend then to pack a material which can be used to shade your campsite during the warm daytime.

When you arrive at Desiderata, you will be directed through security and up to the registration area. There will not be ATM's so please remember to bring the appropriate amount of cash you require to enjoy the festival to its fullest. After receiving your wristband, tribe members will direct you to the appropriate parking and camping area. Camping is first come first serve so the earlier you arrive the more choices you will have. The gates will be open Wednesday, June 23rd at noon for those with Kumzitz Passes, Thursday, June 24th at 4PM for those with regular 4 Day Pass.

If you plan to arrive on Wednesday for the Kumzitz, you will need a Kumzitz Pass in addition to the 4 Day Pass.

The Festival ends Sunday afternoon.

CAR CAMPING, RV's and OVERSIZED VEHICLES

Camping at Desiderata will not be with your vehicle. However, there is a limited amount of Car Camping, RV's and Oversized Vehicle passes available that can be purchased in addition to your ticket for those of you that really want to camp with your vehicle.

If you do purchase one of these passes, please place your Car Camping Pass on the inside of the windshield of your car so that tribe members can direct you to the appropriate campsite.

FOOD and DRINKS

There will be a variety of food vendors at Desiderata 2010. Menus will feature both vegetarian and non-vegeterian foods. A wide selection will give everyone an opportunity to please their taste-buds, while keeping the body healthy and strong.

OPEN FIRES

Campfires are absolutely not allowed at this location. Grilling in enclosed containers is allowed, but no open flame.

Anyone caught making an open fire may be asked to leave the festival premises.

We will be holding a number of bonfires for you to enjoy the natural light of night.

MUSIC, SOUND SYSTEMS

Music will run from 12PM on Thursday, June 24th through 5PM on Sunday, June 27th, with occasional breaks on each stage.

Amplified sound systems are not allowed on the festival grounds.

Musical instruments are very much encouraged though as you will have a great opportunity to take part in massive jam sessions.

PETS

Attendees are strongly encouraged to leave their pets at home. Although small pets are allowed, owners will be asked to keep them on a leash. A pet who is found without a leash will be asked to leave the property, along with the owner.

VENDING

A vendor area as well as an Art-Market of self produced goodies will be located near the center of action. We encourage everyone to stop by and support there local artists and designers, and get yourself a nice gift to celebrate the arrival of summer.

MEDICAL

A medical staff will be available on site to take care of any unexpected issues. Feel free to refer to the staff for any issue regarding an ill medical state.

FIFA WORLD CUP

Desiderata is happy to feature the world cup of soccer as a major attraction this summer. As there are parallel games, we will be showing a selected game at each of the times. Games will be shown throughout the day for those who have missed them in the morning. Do not forget to stop by the beer garden and enjoy a cold beer while wearing your colors.
